Assembly

  1. 1

Block front and back panels lightly if desired. Position embroidered front panel before assembly.

  2. 2

With right sides facing, align front panel to gusset: match lower corners and begin whipstitch along one side. Use neat, even stitches and a matching yarn color. Repeat to join the bottom and other side so gusset wraps the bottom and sides.

  3. 3

Whipstitch back panel to remaining edge of gusset. Leave the top edges even so flap will fold cleanly.

  4. 4

Attach top flap to back panel: center flap along top edge of back panel and sew with whipstitch across the flap base for a secure hinge.

  5. 5

Prepare lining: sew inner snap pocket to lining (centered), press seams, and install magnetic snap halves to lining and flap per manufacturer's instructions. Ensure alignment by placing snap on flap and marking position before punching or sewing.

  6. 6

Insert lining into crocheted bag with wrong sides together; hand-stitch lining to top edge of crochet with small invisible stitches. Optionally sew a few interior stitches at bag sides to secure lining so it doesn't shift.

  7. 7

Prepare strap hardware: attach D-rings to sides of bag by sewing small yarn tabs or using small leather tabs folded and riveted. Attach strap to D-rings using hardware or sew ends securely into place.

Finishing

  1. 1

Weave in all ends using tapestry needle; bury ends into fabric to prevent unraveling.

  2. 2

Trim any stray fibers and lightly steam-block overall shape if needed (do not press interfacing directly).

  3. 3

Attach removable saddle to bag with lobster clasp or button loop; secure jump ring connecting pompom and tassel to saddle.

  4. 4

Test magnetic snap alignment and functionality before finishing top stitch of lining. Reinforce snap with extra stitching if needed.

  5. 5

Carry out a final inspection: check embroidery stitches, ensure lining lies flat, and confirm strap hardware is secure.
